ALEXANDRE EAN
Born in Lyon on August 8, 1994, Alexandre Ean spent his first ten years there before moving to Le Mans, Sarthe. A bright student but always seeking something different, he left the educational system after high school, driven by a passion for literature, cinema, and audiovisual arts. At 20, he moved to Paris, where his routine centered around watching films—up to three per day—and reading nearly ten books a month.
Almost by chance, Alexandre Ean began to build his photography portfolio. His early work was published in independent magazines like *Client Magazine*, *Schön*, *Vanity Teen*, and *Fuuucking Young!*, as well as shooting portfolios for IMG models. Gradually, his photographic style became more personal, and his work was published in prestigious outlets such as *Libération* and the fashion magazine *Cap74024*, the latter playing a decisive role in his career with a standout 2020 cover featuring Bob Wilson.
Alexandre Ean’s photographic practice is constantly evolving, driven by an unrelenting curiosity. He is particularly fascinated by the idea of fantasy within capitalist society: what we are made to believe and the underlying reality. This recurring theme is evident in his work, even though he recognizes the inherent limitations of photography as a medium to fully address such a subject.
